Jezzirae’s Designer Genes
Jezzirae is my (Yvonne Chomini’s beautiful 6 year old daughter. Jezzirae was born with Down Syndrome and also congenital heart disease. Neither of these define who Jezzirae is.
Jezzirae has undergone 3 open heart surgeries in Edmonton, Alberta. She has overcome many obstacles, but nothing will stand in her way.
Jezzirae has completed kindergarten and is now in grade one. She will excel at whatever she puts her mind too. And this mamabear will continue to make sure that happens.
Jezzirae enjoys supporting her siblings while cheering in the stands. Jezzirae loves swimming and we havent found any other sports of interest yet.

You all know Chloe. She can not join the walk with us this year. Hopefully she is going for her last surgery just before the walk and will be at home recovering on walk day. We do however have a new little one that has joined our family and also the MDSS family as well. He is the same age as Chloe and also has down syndrome. He will be at the walk for everyone to meet on the 24th! Help us to help the Manitoba Down Syndrome Society raise money for all the good work they do for our community.

After we were told that Sebastien was born with Down Syndrome, the Manitoba Down Syndrome Society were the first to reach out and make us feel like we were blessed and everything will be ok. From there, all their events they’ve been holding every year to bring our Down Syndrome community together really put us at ease being able to talk and connect with other families and talk about what we can expect as our little miracle grows older. Please donate to keep this great organization do all the great work they do.

Benedict Francis is our little Jedi he is full of smiles, giggles, laughter, monster sounds and a very glowing smile (that’s his Force) he is 2 years 7 months old and he loves a Star Wars, playing his drums, making sounds, making friends and lately scoothing and arm crawling around we hope he can walk next year…Benedict wants to make more friends and help other kids like him to do the best in their life that’s why we’re walking with him trying to reach some money for Manitoba Down Syndrome Society to give them resources to succeed in life. we are very sorry it’s not much we’re going to fundraise we are new in this thing and this is the first time we make a team but we hope that it’s useful. Stacey’s Social Butterflies
My name is Stacey. I love music, singing, dancing, karaoke, colouring, babies, animals, zip lining, amusement rides, downhill skiing, overnight camp and camping with my family. I’m back at L’Arche Tova Café in Transcona during the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays, where I work as hostess! I LOVE this job as I get to meet so many wonderful people while I work. I’ve been living in my L’Arche home in Windsor Park for the past 4½ years.
I have participated in the MDSS Walk with Us (formerly Buddy Walk) every year since my mom started it 16 years ago. I get to dance to great music, get together with lots of friends and meet new people all while supporting The Manitoba Down Syndrome Society. I plan to walk that day with my family and encourage you to walk in support of MDSS as well. Thank you for your support!
Little Critters Crew
This year our Special Olympics Little Critters group has decided to walk in honor of our athletes that have Down Syndrome. These athletes have blown us away with their determination and ability to conquer new skills and tasks at hand. We are grateful for MDSS and their input in helping athletes find their way to our active start group. We are hoping to raise awareness, celebrate our athletes and raise funds for MDSS. We are so proud of our Special Olympic family and so grateful we are doing this walk together.

Every year we walk to fundraise for an organization that is working hard to provide resources and support to those of us in the Down Syndrome community. We’ve had big changes this year, including hiring our first ever Executive Director! This is our one and only fundraiser, we appreciate all of the donations big and small which allows us more opportunity for growth and better ways to support our members. Thank you!!!

Kara is six years old. We were told a number of things but one was that she wouldn’t/ couldn’t survive. Kara is a fighter. A happy, fun loving, daring, sweetheart of a fighter. She has no quit.
Kara is my teacher and I am her mom.
She deserves all the world has to offer and so does everyone else. We are walking to raise awareness of Down Syndrome as well as raise some $ for MDSS.
